Every Year we have a ‘Challenge’ at the Dragon Door Booth, during the Arnold Classic Fitness Expo. For the last two years we had the 88-pound kettlebell press challenge, this year we had the 88-pound (40kg) Pull-up Challenge.
Here’s the results:
Out ouf thousands of people only 100, took the ‘challenge’.
- 11 were able to perform one rep to standard (grip; palms facing a way, neck to bar from a dead hang) and reap the rewards one of Pavel’s e-books.
- Two performed 2 reps and two others performed three reps.
- Michael Blackwelder performed 3 reps at 175 lbs body weight.
- The winner Mike Hunter performed three perfect reps at an amazing 142 pound body weight.
Congratulations to both Mikes and all the rest of the folks that were up for the challange. It was great meeting you all and look forward to seeing you next year! Remember, stay tight and that it’s only perfect practice that makes perfect!!!
If you want to learn the trade secrets of how to excel at weighted pull-ups and build incredible total-body strength and muscular endurance, pick up a copy of the Tactical Athlete Pull-Up System DVD. Rumor has it next year’s challenge may be with a 106-pound kettlebell!!! Do not despair or think this awesome feat of functional strength is out of your reach. If I can do it, ANYONE can do it. Keep in mind “normal people are normally weak”. Come to grips with that fact, then rise above. By the time I was 23, I had already undergone 3 shoulder surgeries (2 on my right and 1 on my left). My right shoulder continued to dislocate on a regular basis until the year 2000. To say my pull-up strength was “less than normal”, would be an understatement. Proper training and determination it all it takes to rise above, no excuses…refuse to be normal!
